Are the benefits of Green Tea the same whether you drink premade iced teas or fresh brewed? I started drinking Lipton Diet Green Tea with Citrus. While I do really enjoy the taste, the main reason I started drinking it was due to all the buzz about the health benefits of green tea. I don't really care for the taste of regular green tea from a bag or a tin. So, am I still getting all the health benefits of should I force myself to chug a cup of the fresh brewed stuff a couple times a day?
can bottled green tea give you the same benefits that regular green tea has? i keep hearing all the benefits green tea can have on your body. does it have to be the green tea that you brew yourself from a tea bag or can i buy bottled green tea (such as diet lipton green tea) and still gain the same benefits.
Is Lipton Green Tea (Diet) as good for you as green tea brewed at home? Just curious. I read an interesting article on the health benefits of green tea - and did not know if a particular brand, kind etc. was better for you than others.
Are there hidden SEXUAL BENEFITS to GREEN TEA? Ok, I'm being 100% serious here... normally I kid around every now and then. I've been drinking large amounts of GREEN TEA mix with my water. I use diet green tea and regular green tea randomly. My water consumption is basically around 75 Ounces/day. (about 32 ounces per meal). #1 I have lost 15 pounds in the past 2 months . #2 My sex drive has gone through the roof. My girlfriend is getting it twice and sometimes 3 times a day and in between sex with her I find myself viewiwing excessive amounts of porn on pornotube.com as well as that on DVD-R's I made. #3 I used to produce about 1 Tablespoon of semen per sex encounter but now I'm producing almost THREE (upon inspection of spent condoms) Is green tea sexually benefitial, is it just the summer heat l OR, is it the water I'm drinking? I doubt this is a placebo effect.
Does Diet Lipton Green tea w/citrus have the same weight loss benefits as drinking regular brewed Green Tea? I know that Green Tea is supposed to have good health benefits, increase metabolism, etc., but I am not sure if it has to be pure Green Tea or if the Lipton Citrus teas work the same.

Lipton Green Tea/Arizona Green Tea.? Do these offer the same health benefits as Green Tea that you make yourself via the packets? Or ones that you buy in a Coffee Shop? Also, I'm drinking Diet Lipton Green Tea, or Diet Arizona Green Tea, would that have any effect whatsoever? Oh, I mean the ones that come in 20 oz bottles or Cans.
Green tea - health benefits? what are the health benefits of drinking green tea? and over what period of time would you have to regularly drink it (say one cup everyday or two) for these benefits to actually effect the body etc? i just asked this question in diet and fitness before realising it probably belongs here

Is Snapple Green Tea good for you? I just drank some snapple green tea and it seems like it gives you all the healthy benefits as regular green tea... and it tastes a lot better... is drinking Snapple Green Tea good for you when your on a diet? Or is sticking with freshly brewed green tea better?
Is green tea or diet green tea better? does it matter? green tea has calories but diet doesn't. do they both have the same benefits?
How good is earl gray tea for diet/health? I have a tassimo machine and recently ran out of green tea discs so I have just started drinking earl gray tea. What (if any) are the benefits of it? I know its not as good as green tea health/diet wise, but is it still good for you?
green tea while on a diet? I'm drinking Lipton green tea with a little bit of sugar as well as water during my diet. Is lipton green tea good though? I'd read here that green tea helps with weight loss but did they drink it sugar free? How should I drink the green tea for the maximum health benefits? thanks! :)
Green tea vs. green (iced) tea? Is there a difference between the green tea from a tea bag and the green tea that you buy in a jug from the store (more like iced tea). Obviously the tea in the jug is high in sugar and calories, but if you bought diet (usually no sugar, no calories) would it have the same benefits as green tea in a bag? By benenfits I mean weight loss, antioxidants, etc.
Does green tea help weight loss? I am finally going to start dieting and I recently started drinking green tea for the anti-oxidant benefit. But does it also help with losing weight?
Real green tea? I know how great green tea is for you. Problem is, I drink diet Arizona green tea or lipton or community house.. and I hear that these are not as beneficial and contain a lot of sugar even though they ARE diet. Where can I find REAL green tea so that I can get all the benefits I should be getting from it? Do they come in packets or what? thankss!

How much green tea should I drink? Ok I know that green tea is good for you, however I also know that it contains caffeine. So how much green tea should I drink, in order to get the health benefits that it has, but not drink too much caffeine. I actually have been drinking way too much caffeine in the past, I would drink about 10 cans of diet pepsi a day. So how much green tea, would I have to drink in order to equal 10 cans of diet pepsi. I plan to drink slightly less than that amount, so that I drink less and less caffeine each day. Where should I stop, however. In other words, what would be the right amount of green tea to drink in a day? Thanks, Kyle
Are there any benefits from going on a high-liquid diet? 1 Glass of water 1st thing in the morning. 3 square meals a day (a shake+fruit for breakfast). Substitute beverage for snack whenever I'm peckish (juice or green tea) Plenty of water throughout the day. No drinks after 6 PM.
A good Resource Book on Natural remedies/info? Hey, I am just wondering if there are any good resource books (perferibly ONE giant encyclopedia) on the natural remedies used to maintain a helathy diet, healthy body and healthy living... for example, benefits from green tea, drinking chlorophyll, soy products and so on....
Do you find trendy diets a fad or do they have real health benefits....? 1. POMEGRANATE: If you're going to have a martini, at least make it a pomegranate one. This fall fruit has higher antioxidant activity than red wine and green tea. 2. KIWIFRUIT: Don't judge this fruit by its cover: Under that bristly brown peel you'll find a bright green star bursting with antioxidants and full of fiber. 3. BARLEY: When some whole grains, such as wheat and oats, are processed, they lose their fiber content. Not so with barley, which is full of soluble beta-glucan fiber in its whole kernel or refined flour form. What is your favorite health food that you eat at least once, maybe twice, a day...fruits, vegetable, cereal, drink, etc...? Do you supplement your eating habits with vitamins/minerals?
Does oolong tea realy help you loose weight? If so where can I buy it in the UK? Hi. I have just been told that oolong tea is 250% more effective for loosing weight than green tea and nettle tea. I have been drinking nettle tea over 6 months now and have definately seen the benefits since I have lost half a stone without changing my diet or exercising more. If it's true that oolong tea is 250% more effective then I'd love to know where I can buy it from in the UK? I have read that if it comes from or has anything to do with China to stay well away as it could do you more harm than good due to the chemical filled soil that they grow it in over there. Does anyone know where I can buy this tea not grown in China? If so can you buy it from any health food shops over the counter or do you have to get it online? I'd prefer it if I could buy it in a shop or supermarket then I know exactly what I'm getting, I'm a bit funny about buying things like this online. Thanks to anyone who can help me with this xxx
Please read it to the last word? Long Life May Be Your Cup of (Green) Tea By Kathleen Doheny HealthDay Reporter Adults who drank at least five cups of the brew daily had a lower risk of cardiovascular death and death from all other causes, except cancer, than those who drank less than one cup a day, according to a research team from Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan. They published their findings in the Sept. 13 Journal of the American Medical Association. While many laboratory and animal studies have suggested that green tea protects against illness, its effect in humans has been less clear. "Only four epidemiological studies [in people] have been conducted to date," said lead researcher Dr. Shinichi Kuriyama. And those studies "included small sample sizes, and the results were inconsistent," he added. However, "our study includes far more participants -- 40,350 -- than the previous studies," Kuriyama said. "I think our study would provide strong evidence regarding the benefits of drinking green tea in humans on cardiovascular disease." "To be more definitive, we need a randomized trial," said Chyu. He said his lab's animal studies have found that green tea does have cardio-protective effects, especially if consumption commences before the onset of hardening of the arteries. For those who might want to "go green" for health, "I'd probably take a neutral position right now," Chyu said. "Tea is not harmful, that we know," he said. If you're a tea drinker, continue, Chyu said. If not, be aware that the habit probably needs to be long-term before you reap any real health benefit. "I don't think I'd recommend people drink large quantities of green tea," added Dr. Robert Vogel, professor of medicine at the University of Maryland Medical School in College Park. Like Chyu, he stressed that the study only showed an association, not any direct cause-and-effect. However, he said green tea consumption is certainly preferable to drinking beverages such as non-diet sodas, which are loaded with sugar. U.S. government health agencies have so far backed away from recommending green tea as a health aid. Earlier this year, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration review of the available data found no evidence to support companies' claims that green tea eases cardiovascular risk. The agency released a similar statement in 2005, noting a lack of evidence that green tea fights cancer. Experts at the U.S. National Cancer Institute have also reviewed data from human trials focused on tea's cancer-preventing effects but said the studies offered conflicting results. The NCI is funding its own rigorous studies on the subject, however. The study's lead author was much more enthusiastic. "I personally drink green tea, two or three cups per day," Kuriyama said. "On the basis of our study results, I would like to recommend the drinking of green tea at least one cup per day." But Kuriyama added that the tea should not be steaming hot. "Drinking green tea at high temperature may be associated with increased risk of esophageal cancer and mortality," he said, citing two published studies.
What are some herbs/spices with additional health benefits? I am doing well so far on my diet/lifestyle changes but still have a ways to go. I drink green tea, take fish oil supp and a multivitamin. Add a healthy amount of cinnamon to my shakes/oatmeal (more for its diabetes properties as it is prevalent in my family, though i dont have it) and liberally use flaxseed. I know overall diet and exersize is the most important factor but I was wondering if there are spices/herbs or other things that have hidden, beneficial health effects.
My mom is mad at me, but please decide who is correct? I am 17 years old and became a vegetarian for already a week. For my diet, I eat anything that is not meat or poultry. And I have also been drinking a lot of green tea everyday for the benefits of it. The things that motivated me to become a vegetarian is by seeing some of my teachers at school who are really old like in their late 60s and early 70s. They are healthy as being healthy can get. They told me they are vegetarians and they drink lot of herbal products like green tea. The food that I was eating before becoming a vegetarian would kill me by the time I reach 30. It contained lot of fatty acid, grease, cholesterol and many other not good nutrition. So right now I became a vegetarian and will take herbal products and want to remain vegetarian for the rest of my life but my mom is worried. She thinks i wont have any energy without eating meat and she also thinks that too much green tea will have a negative outcome. Am I right or she is right? (The tea has no caffeine in it)
Are suppliments worth taking? I have heard that they are expensive and that with a regular diet they are not needed, but I also heard that it is not likely one would drink enough "Green Tea" to get the benefits one can get from it without drinking like 25 cups of tea. So you could buy them in doses enough to gain their benefit. Also I understand "Garlic" is good for your heart, but you would have to eat a ton of it. The garlic odor would be strong on you, so instead of that we can purchase non-odor "garlic" suppliments and get their benefit. So...are suppliments good or bad?
Antioxidants Boost Metabolism? I actually have several questions, What is a simple way of understanding what Antioxidants are? How much can Antioxidants boost the Metabolism? Estimate how many more calories would you burn daily if you drank 1 bottle of green tea? If you drink 2 bottles of green tea do you burn more calories becaue there are more Anioxidants in your system? Or has your metabolism already taken effect and won't boost anymore? Is it a fact Antoxidants always boost metabolism or is it a sometimes event? What other health benefits come from drinking Antioxidants? thanks all! im getting good health and dieting tips about things I should be drinking more often.
Can "diet" pills be good for you? I read the ingredients on the back of some of these "diet" pills and sometimes they look more like super multivitamins! I was just wondering, I know we ALL need a little extra vitamins, such as b-6, b-12, and some of these "herbs" can be good for us too, as well as green tea. So, what I was wanting to know is, if any, is there a diet pill out there that could actually benefit you and not harm you? And instead of taking these pill to just "lose weight" can you take them for the well-being part of it? Thanks for your answers!!
Would this be just as beneficial!? Right I am a complete coffee addict and have about 5-7 mugs a day (though I also drink about 3 litres of water too). I am aware that you need to drink green tea to boost your fat burning potential - and I've been having a mug a day, then I read that you need to have about 5 mugs a days to make a difference. So here's the stupid question....... Would I get teh same nutritional benefits if I were to put a teabag in my mug of coffee? I don't need diet and fitness advice thanks - just an answer to that question. Thanks Kez x Snuffles - how many times!!!! women is bloody plural! you're right though. kez x
im taking alot of supplements for weight loss, and muscle building. can taking to many supplements hurt me? im pretty positive everything in the individual supplements is fairly safe. im not taking any brand names, all pure subtances, such as arginine, carnitine, CLA, green tea extract, forskolin, BCAAs, multi vitamin, calcium, selenium, caffeine, sesamin, tyrosine, beta alanine, glutamine, creatine, protein, ZMA, fish oil, beta alanine, melatonin, 5-HTP, probiotics, digestive enzymes and fiber. i can find plenty of information detailing the dangers and benefits of each kind of supplement. but nothing addressing the dangers of taking so many pills and powders all at the same time. it comes out to over 80 servings of pills or powders a day. im just wondering what kind of effects this can have on me. i feel normal. alittle fuller than usual. but i definitely feel stronger and more energetic and im losing weight. i lift 6 days a week. cardio 4 days a week and i box, and im on a full 6-7 meals a day, 2300 calorie diet thats very high in protein. so i was wondering if this was dangerous?
What vitamins should I be taking? I've watched numerous health tv shows on the benefits of taking vitamins, but I am wondering which ones I should take. I am a 24 year old woman. I don't have any health problems, besides asthma. I'm pretty active (I run daily) and I eat a pretty balanced diet. Right now I take a woman's multi-vitamin, fish oil, and an iron supplement. I also drink plenty of green tea throughout the day. I'm wondering if I should be taking more... I've heard I should be taking vitamin C w/ magnesium...? If anyone has any suggestions or any information, I would definitely appreciate it. Thanks!
Do you buy skin glow products?? 18 Foods That Make Your Skin Glow Posted Wed, Mar 19, 2008, 1:20 pm PDT POST A COMMENT » Top skin creams average about $400 an ounce (and you thought gas was expensive!), yet most offer little proof that they do half of what they promise. Want to save a bundle and improve your skin? Load your shopping cart with nutrients that research has shown to have skin-hydrating, sun-protecting, and even wrinkle-preventing powers, says Manhattan dermatologist Amy Wechsler, MD. Here’s her grocery list of best foods for your skin. Firm and Bright You’re probably up to your eyebrows (Botoxed or not) with hearing “eat more fruits and vegetables.” But if you have yet to take that advice to heart, maybe knowing that they prevent wrinkles will do the trick. The colorful pigments that produce bright orange and red also refill antioxidant levels in your skin. The skin doc’s 3 top picks: SWEET POTATOES, TOMATOES, CANTALOUPE What they do: Replenish your skin’s supply of antioxidants, so they're ready to scarf up free radicals whenever they make an appearance. Free rads are highly reactive oxygen molecules that damage cells and contribute to just about everything that can go wrong with skin, from dryness to crinkles. Fresh and Juicy Your body can’t store much wrinkle-fighting vitamin C, so you need to keep your supplies stocked. The easiest, simplest way: Have some citrus every day. The skin doc’s 4 top picks: ORANGES, LEMONS, LIMES, GRAPEFRUIT Actually, ounce for ounce, oranges are the top citrus C source but you can only eat so many, right? For variety, make lemonade, squeeze limes on melon, add grapefruit to salad, and instead of drinking soda, fizz up OJ with sparkling water. It all adds up. What they do: Keep skin’s vitamin C levels high. While C’s a nifty antioxidant, that’s not the key reason it’s here. It helps keeps collagen -- the supportive protein fibers that stop skin from sagging -- strong and resilient. (Flimsy collagen means lines and wrinkles.) Since collagen breakdown really picks up in your mid-30s, eat citrus early and often to head off aging. Smoothing and Soothing There’s a particularly potent antioxidant known as EGCG that does all kinds of good things for skin. The best place to find it? True teas: black, green, or white (not herbal). Brew a teapot full every morning, so that sipping four to six cups throughout the day is a no-brainer. The skin doc’s #1 pick: GREEN TEA While all true teas contain EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate), the various types of green tea have the most. Wechsler’s personal favorite is hojicha green tea (available at http://www.adagio.com/). “The roasting process that turns this green tea a brownish color also lowers its caffeine content,” she says -- handy if you’re caffeine sensitive or it’s one of those days when you do not need another stimulant. What it does: Gives your skin a healthy dose of EGCG, which is a great multi-tasker. EGCG puts a damper on inflammatory chemicals involved in acne and sun-related skin aging; it also helps prevent skin cancer; and it has a lion-tamer effect on tumor cells. What’s more, green tea contains L-theanine, a de-tensing amino acid -- and anything you can do to staunch the flow of the stress hormone cortisol helps keep collagen fibers intact. Green and Leafy Certain dark leafy greens, whether they’re fresh, frozen, raw, or steamed, really deliver on vitamin A, one of the most skin-essential vitamins going. The skin doc’s 3 top picks: SPINACH, TURNIP GREENS, BROCCOLI What they do: Deliver a hefty supply of vitamin A, which supports skin cell turnover, the process that keeps cell growth and development humming along flawlessly. Without enough A, skin becomes dry, tough, and scaly. Fisherman’s Faves Several cold-water catches give your skin a double benefit: age-fighting omega-3 fatty acids plus the restorative powers of protein. The skin doc’s 7 top picks: SALMON, TROUT, TUNA, ATLANTIC MACKEREL, SARDINES, PACIFIC HERRING, MOST SHELLFISH Just don’t, uh, go overboard. As good as omega-3s are for skin (and the rest of you, too), worries about the amount of mercury in many fish mean it’s smart to limit seafood to two meals a week. That’s a must for women who are or might become pregnant or are nursing, and for young children, too. (Go here for the government’s fish guidelines.) What they do: Omega-3s fight inflammation, now considered one of the top skin-agers, and they also help protect against sunburn, enhancing the effects of your SPF sunscreen. Protein is required to build and repair skin cells and to make enzymes and hormones that help keep it glowing. Fill your weekly grocery cart with all of the above foods and you won’t just look younger, you’ll be younger. Eating at least 1 serving of fish a week and getting the right amount of antioxidants through diet or supplements lower your biological age. In fact, the antioxidants alone can make your RealAge up to 6 years younger. OK.....haha! Hey..whatever works , right!? Vitamin E products works for me
My diabetic dad is diagonsed as having artherosclorosis, need immediate HELP!!? recently discovered that my dad is having artherosclorosis. He is diabetic too. were surprised as he was a fitness freak - into yoga, all these years..until past 6-8 months he ignored his health that shooted up his cholestrol along with his blood sugar levels. fortunately we detected in time (CT scan) the doctors said that there is plaque buildup in his arteries , but nothing has affected his main arteries.so ruled out for surgery (by-pass).But the doctors have recommended him to cautious..be on low-fat, low-sodium diet. I want to ask the experts here and want them elaborate - 1)How to control this disease 2)what type of food needs to be consumed..( how much serving of fish, poulty, vegetables). 3)Quantity of fluids.(fruits), any supplements 4)How much physical activity (exercise in a day). 5)Can consume alcohol like red wine to reduce his cholestrol levels 6)should he consume black/green tea to reduce the risk of any heart disease. any additional info will really benefit.Thnx

Green Tea? Alright, so I'm going to start dieting and exercising a lot during the summer, and I've heard a lot about the benefits of green tea. I wanted to know if anyone could tell me about it, whether or not it works, and if it does work, then what brand you think I should use.
Green Tea?? Hii everyone... I have a quick question. I'm currently on a diet right now, but these past couple of days I have been drinking about 2 16oz cups of iced green tea with honey everyday.. would this mess up my weight loss in anyway? I work out at lot. I run/jog for at least 40 minutes twice a day, i do 25 regular crunches, 25 bicycle manuever crunches, 25 oblique crunches, at least 15 minutes on my ablounge, 10 minutes worth of wall squats, and 10 minutes of lunges and this is just my morning routine..I do the same routine at night too. Right now I currently weigh 135lbs, I'm 5'5". I don't eat junk food, or drink sodas or eat anything sweet like candy and stuff. Would I also benefit from drinking green tea with honey? THANKS SO MUCH!! jenii
