What health information websites are most commonly used in France (eg similar to WebMD, but in France)? Is there a government-funded patient health information website in France (a French equivalent to NHS Direct in the UK)?

Does anyone know a free website I can go to get pet health information? I usually use a website like WEBMD when it is something revolving around a human, but since this is an animal I wonder if there is a website that is dedicated to pet health?

Do you consult health boards for information? Hey guys, if you are diagnosed with an illness, where do you go for information? Do you go simply to places like WebMD, or do you access message boards as well? What message boards do you like to use? Also, do you trust information from blogs for your health?

Health Care information technology? I'm writing a research paper on this type of technology and I'm consentrating on websites such as webMD and the fact that patients can store their medical records in these webs and share them with their phisicians. The paper has to be about info-tech so I was wondering if and how I should formulate it because I also want to include some info on TouchWorks and Allscrips (other technologies used to improfe the sharing of information in healthcare). If you have any suggestions it would be great. I do, after all, have to write my own paper, but it would help to get some ideas from the Yahoo community. It is after all the information age.

How can water at the beach be dangerous to your health? I recently read an article entitled "Beach 101" and it recommended readers find out about the quality of the ocean water at the beach before wandering into it. It didn't explain what could contribute to reducing the water's quality. It also advised readers not to go into ocean water right after it rains. Didn't explain how rain can contribute to reducing the ocean water's quality either. The source for much of the information in this article was supposedly WebMD. My experience with doctors has been that they tell me what to do, but are not big on explaining why, so maybe that's why this article wasn't big on explaining. Is there anyone out there (beach fans, lifeguards, scientists, yikes-maybe a doctor?) who would like to explain what (under normal circumstances) makes ocean beach water lose it's quality and especially how rain water contributes to reducing the ocean water's quality to the extent that is can be harmful to one's health?

Does anyone have any recommendations for an obgyn in the Denver Littleton area of Colorado? I am a few months pregnant and I just recently got health insurance. I was waiting to get the insuance before I went to see a doctor to start all of the check-up's and such and I wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations for an obgyn in the Denver/Littleton area of Colorado. I would like someone who would be very helpful, as this would be my first child and I also would like someone who would be able to help me keep everything as natual as possible for the birth and everything in between. If anyone knows of a good obgyn I would greatly appreciate it. I have looked on webmd for some but I wanted maybe some more information on them then just were they went to school and what their spacific intrests are. some obgyns to not see would also be helpful. HPV Vaccine? I've been waiting for this vaccine to come out since I've heard about it about 2 years ago from my old Human Bio text book. This vaccine is now available, but I do need more information, my primary care provider may not have this vaccine, yet, and I would like to be vaccinated ASAP. My question is I need a page of information about the possible side effects, as well as who the vaccine is recommended for, etc. No offense but if you do not provide a source, DONT ANSWER THE QUESTION. Does anybody know anything about the side effects of the drug PAXIL?? My sister in law has been on this Paxil crap for 6 months. With everything going on with her health, they have told her she has Fibromyalgia. That's basically what they tell you you have when they've exhausted all tests and can't figure out what is wrong with you. When she's gone to the emergency room, which has been numerous times, she's been called a drug addict. But, the fact is that she has requested NOT to be prescribed any narcotics. She's a good girl...doesn't smoke or do drugs...has a glass of wine about once a month. Anyway, I'm trying to find out what side effects others have had with PAXIL. I went to webmd.com and was AMAZED at all of the side effects of this drug! Yet they continue giving it out like candy and don't pay attention to the signs and symptoms of the drug when she sees any of her 4 doctors or the emergency room docs. She has about 65% of the symptons that bombhaus posted. And yet, when she tells the docs the ONLY meds she has been taking is PAXIL they can't put 2 and 2 together. I've read alot about this now and it sounds like the weening process could be pretty torturous on her poor little body. It's so discouraging knowing your doctors prescribe this crap and don't pay any attention to what you're telling them when you're ill because of that particular drug.
