My dog just ate a butterfly?

my dog, a german shepherd 1 year old dog just captured a tiny plain white butterfly and i think he just ate it..would that be a health problem? what will happen? has anyone had this same experiecne with their dogs?what should we do? so far, he has not shown any weird symptom of any kind of disease..he ate it about 10 mins ago. he did not chew it because its so tiny..

if it was white it was a moth and relax it won't hurt him in your dogs very long life he is going to eat some questionable things to worry about, this is not one of them.
This should not be a problem. I've seen dogs eat things a lot worse than insects and they do just fine. There is no need to panic. If(by chance) he does get sick, you should call the vet. Good luck!
lolololol......please honey.....dogs eat bugs all the time....if it would hurt him he would spit it out because it tastes bad! Nature works that way.......Bright Blessings

Not to worry just a small bit of protein it will not hurt your dog. I had a dog once that ate grasshoppers, fly, rain drops and snow flakes. When we got her she had been abandoned and had taken to eating stuff of this sort to live. your dog will be fine.
My German Shephard loved flies. He would try so hard to catch it if it was flying around in the house. He also was amused with ants as well. I am sure he ate plenty. You're dog is going to be just fine. Just imagine how that butterfly felt ;)
Your dog should be fine. My cat eats butterflies all the time, and he's fine. The butterfly should not affect your dog at all. Relax. Just leave your dog alone to digest the butterfly, and all will be well...
It should be ok outside dogs eat things like this all the time just watch him if he starts acting sick call your vet

its just a little protien lol its not ggonna hurt the dog dont worry my dog runs arount the kitchen trying to catch flies when there around and my other dog used to eat ants ... he'll be fine lol
calm down my dogs have eaten many bugs. sometimes there just tryin to play but then it stops moving so it eats it it is very ammusing actually lol
