- If I'm thinking of the right diet, where you eat no solid food and drink a mixture of fresh lemon juice, cayenne pepper and grade B maple syrup, then I'd suggest saying your time because although you will lose weight, you'll probably gain it all back right away. By taking just that mixture for 10 days straight of course you would lose weight because it looks like your eating about 50 calories a day, when your body normally requires much more (average adult requires 2,000 calories a day). It's the equivalent to starving yourself. You could probably just drink lots of water and get the same affects. Since you are creating a deficit of 1950 calories your body has to make up for it by burning fat. Problem is with this type of dieting, basically not eating, you are eating way too little calories, your body starts to breakdown your muscles after a couple days as a preservation technique. This in turn results in a lower basal metabolic rate (how much energy you burn to just live). Since muscle takes energy to maintain (this is partly why body builders can eat more than 3000 calories a day and not gain weight, their muscles need lots of energy), the less muscle you have the less calories you burn the less you can eat and not gain weight. In other words you'll lose weight fast, but as soon as you go back to eating regularly, you'll gain all of it back and probably a couple extra lbs. In terms of a detox, our bodies don't really need a detox, I've never heard of an actual medical physician saying that we need a periodic detox. Simply put, from the cnn.com article: Dr. Ed Zimney, the medical director of HealthTalk, a Seattle, Washington-based Web site where a lively debate about the cleanse has flourished, said: "Your gastrointestinal tract does not need to be cleaned out because it is constantly in motion. This whole idea of cleaning out toxins from the colon is a complete myth and unnecessary." Unfortunately there are no quick and easy magical diets to lose fat and keep it off. There are people that say it will work, and maybe it worked for them, there are also no nutritionist, registered dietitians or medical doctors that will recommend it. It's just not healthy for your body. You're better off taking an extra 30 minutes to walk or swim everyday. It may be slower and the results will take much longer to see, but at least in the end there will be real results. Good luck.
- Yeah. I tried it and lost 10 pounds on 2 weels. Gaining back a few pounds is considered normal after the diet but I did not experience significant weight gain. The key is not to eat a lot of food after your cleansing period is over. Do a portion control, start with small portion and increase it until it's 80% of your previous portion. Another tips for me is not to drink the salt water flush as advised by the guide. I found an article about the harm of salt water flush and decided not to drink it. I still lost a lot of pounds and I did not have to stay near bathroom. The reason that salt water flush just go down from mouth to our bottom in short amount of time is that because it is toxic for you to digest it. This is why many complain that it tastes terrible and makes them feel sick and want to vomit
- I use another Nutrional Cleansing system and I have great results. I like it a lot better than the master cleanse. I get to eat food and not just lemonaid for 2 weeks. If you would like more information please feel free to email me directly at bignlild@msn.com
