- I am totally against that diet! My one friend that did it ended up with horrible hemmorrhoids that still have not healed a year later. Depriving your body of vital nutrients is not the way to help healing. You really don't want to release a bunch of toxins in your system all at once anyways. I would recommend something a bit more gentle... http://kitchentablemedicine.com/detox-diet/ or just a light spring cleaning...this is what I just did a few weeks ago and I felt really good afterwards! Not too hard to follow. http://kitchentablemedicine.com/do-you-need-a-spring-cleaning/
- I did the master cleanse a few years ago. I agree, it is a bit harsh. I really felt great mentally, but it wreaked serious havoc on my stomach....Plus I lost a pretty big section of hair on my head down to smooth scalp. I think if you feel the need to do a cleanse, maybe a juice and water fast. I just feel it is less shocking to your system. (when I say juice, I mean juice that you make yourself ie: carrot apple celery) There are many great effective juice recipes around.
