Anorexia???

okay lol so we are learnig about Anorexia in heath class but we just started and well i have lots of ? like how they do it ?? i mean do they eat? what they do how can they not eat i hear you can only not eat for 3 weel or your dies do they die info on Anorexia pls..!! any one is/been Anorexia? help thanks!!

  1. They do eat but they take everything out after eating. So, there's still a small percentage of nutrients absorbed by the body. The others all gone. This sickness is categorized in psychology disorder.
  2. anorexis dont eat... if dey do they dont eat a lot...smll portions...they think they r fat...dont eat calories ...starve... i havent been anorexic...i just learned abt it..dont lisen 2 da one on top....dey dont take everything ot dats bulimics....anorexics STARVE...themselves
  3. Actually, what the previous answer is describing is bulemia, where a person DOES eat, but then they purge by making themselves vomit or by using laxatives to cause diarrhea. Anorexia is actual starvation. Sometimes the person eats just enough to stay alive or to convince people around them that they are eating. Some will use appetite suppresants to keep from being hungry and avoid eating that way. Anorexia is a very serious psychological disorder that should be managed by a qualified physician.
  4. no no ok listen to me anorexia is something in ur mind right so u have a fixation that u r fat so u stop eating slowing by slowing taking calories out of ur dinner lunch breakfast everyday and end up eating nothing and thats why they r so skiny they also exercise to burn out every fat that is in their body>!!! its terrible anyway some people wanna be skinny and make themsleve vomit this is called bullia its different to anorexia coz bulimia u eat but make urself throw up and anorexia u dont eat anything i hope i helped
  5. They still eat but just in little tiny portions with as little calories as posible and they exercise like nuts! They can go hungry because it is a disorder of the mind. Their world is telling them to be skinny so that is all they think about. It is the most impportant thing in their life. They obsess about it.
  6. anorexia is when you eat just anough to stay alive!! its extremley dangerous and bad for you, like some people will eat like 300 caloires a day!!! but little do they know, that doing that puts your body into starvation mode, were your metabolism shuts down, and your body stores all the fat they eat. so they end up looking like a bag of bones with some fat!! your muscle goes away, not very much fat does actually. unless they are exercising like crazy!! which alot of them do too! which is even more dangerous to do
  7. Typically they do eat, just not very much. They might consume the equivalent of a small lunch the entire day. Some of them do completely starve themselves for days or a week or two. Anorexics see food as a sort of enemy. They pit their will against their hunger. It's about control. They want to feel strong in resisting the urge to eat. I think there is also a self-hate aspect to it. It's like they think they don't deserve to eat. Anorexia is the deadliest mental illness. Ten percent of severe anorexics die from starvation, suicide, or electrolyte imbalance (from excessive water drinking or not enough salts).
  8. well, first of all, it isn't funny - in the least. second of all, anorexics usually eat a very small amount, enough to survive...for a while anyway....Anorexia is a psychological disorder/disease that will ruin every aspect of your life. Your whole world becomes focused on food, weight, calories, exercise, and more importantly, TOTAL CONTROL over what goes into your body.   9. It's a way to feel in control of their lives. They don't feel "in charge" of anything else, so they focus all their discipline into one simple, self destructive idea... not eating. It's not about losing weight. If it was they'd just become vegan vegetarians. It's all about feeling they control SOMETHING.
  10. i would just like to say tht the vwieght fixation is not the only goal for anarexic, it is about control. i suffered for this for 1 yr, you do not eat anything, until you are so weak then you eat something like a piece of cheese. it destroys the way you look at food and you WILL end up crwlin through bins, ib hunger. if you have any other question i ll be happy to help, hope this helps anyway
  11. hey there, i have been anorexic for a couple of years. of course we eat. just not enough to be considered a normal amount. my daily maximum amount of calories is 300, whereas someone else my age (21-female)would consume probably around 1500.
  12. anorexics eat almost nothing and usally keep to under 300 calories a day so thats how they stay alive but they exercise or take laxitives or find another way to get rid of it. also your body has fat stored up so it can feed on that for a while but if the anorexia goes untreated then the body starts to eat away at muscles and organs to get nutrients so you die
  13. Yes, anorexic people do eat... they just eat as little as they possibly can using small portions and low calorie foods. They have great control over their bodies... they use this control to feel as though they have control over their lives... Eat nothing for 5 days (drink water only!) On the 6th morning eat one large balanced meal containing all three of the food groups (that way your cravings will go away because you will be constantly thinking about eat)... The next day you then repeat this process and so on... For every day that you do not eat you should lose around 0.5kgs... You should set yourself Goal Weights... Each GW should be 1-2kgs less then the previous weight.. Eg GW1: 60kgs GW2: 58kgs... You should write down a Starting Weight (SW) and an Ultimate Goal Weight (UGW)... the ultimate goal weight should be the final weight that you would like to weigh... track all of this in a diary along with your exercise and calorie consumption. it takes around 42days without food before they could be considered starving them selves.. or until their is no fat or muscle to waste away... But people need some fat and muscle for padding around the heart and other organs! If you really would like to lose weight then you should go and see a nutrionist... and exercise every day!
