- Healthy food choices begin to make a positive difference immediately. But I would focus on exercise first because it is easier to maintain. Fad diets don't seem to have good balance to them. Best to make sure you are getting some protein, some carbs, and some vitamins (fruits and veggies) at each meal. If you think about that way, you will have less cravings.
