Anorexia??

I think I might have anorexia nervosa, but I don't know for sure. I've been eating 1200 calories a day for a while, and the past few days I've just been eating a huge breakfast and nothing else for the whole day. I plan to eat 500 calories a day tomorrow and from then on. I'm a 5'9" male and weigh around 130 lbs. I really want to lose weight, but I don't think I'm skinny enough to be anorexic. Whenever I eat or drink I feel guilty, and I wouldn't love myself if I gained any more weight. Am I anorexic or something?

  1. It sounds like you're developing some kind of eating disorder , but not neccessarily anorexia .
  2. You have an eating disorder, and show some of the classic symptoms of anorexia, such as fear to gain weight, guiltiness when eating and eating a low amount of food. You have to realize losing more weight will be bad for you. When your body doesn't get enough food it will stop growing, which will lead to stunted growth. It may also make you temporarily sterile, and extreme malnutrition, or malnutrition over time may make this permanent. You will also feel more tired, weak and less concentrated which will affect your grades at school. If you're doing a sport, your performance will be decreased, as your muscles will be teared down and your blood flow and heart beat will decrease, making you breath less oxygen. Headaches, stomach pain and thin hair may also be normal in the beginning, and your immune system will gradually become weakened, making you more likely to develop diseases, and less likely to fight them. Wounds will also heal slower, and may easier come infected, and bones will break easier. Tooth decay, dry skin, depression, easy irritated, bags under your eyes, a constant feeling of cold due to starvation mode, Inability to maintain body temperature which can lead to hypothermia, heat exhaustion, or even heat stroke, poor judgment, increased amount of negative thoughts which makes it more difficult to think clearly and brittle fingernails. All of these may occur on an early stage. Over time, malnutrition may lead to bone problems at young age, which again may lead to several injuries. In the worst cases, organ failure may occur. Abnormalities of different blood values and other values may also lead to death in extreme cases. If you continue eating like this your weight will become anorexic, your mind unfortunately already seems to be. I suggest you should seek help for your problem. Talk to a doctor, nutritionist or any other with experience on how to treat eating disorders. Good luck:)
