Detox diet?
I'm on day 2 of a detox diet and I am suffering from headaches, nausea and fatigue. Is this normal, why is it happening and how long do you think it will last? I am only eating fruit and vegetables for a week. From next week I will be allowed meat and other foods.

- What the hell is a Detox Diet?
- these detox diets are a load of crap honestly - just eat a healthy, balanced diet and get some exercise!
- Well read what you're asking about: DETOX. A detox is cleansing the body of toxins. Your body is going through a change and it's making some adjustments. New cells are being formed, your organs are expermenting things that it's not use to. Those things your suffering from is normal and expected. That's a sign that it's working. As your body gets use to cleansing processes you'll probably not experience them again. Great job and hope you feel on top of the world after this.
- You are detoxing. This is normal. Keep your fluid intake at a sensible level. Your body is reacting to the lack of caffeine, chocolate, alcohol and whatever else you have cut from your diet. It'll pass. Stick with the plan and good luck.
- There's really no need to detox. Your liver and kidneys are designed to do just that job.
- yes its normal. should last 3 days.
- Sounds like you really needed to detox. Yes, this is normal because all those toxins are being stirred up in your system. Drinking lots of pure water is really important during this time so you will flush this out through your kidneys. How long these symptons last will depend on how many toxins in your system. Everyone is different. But you should begin to feel better in a few days. Try to rest as much as possible in a dark room to help the headache and fatigue. If you don't have to take anything for the headache and nausea you will be better off because you will only be adding more toxins into your system. Hope you feel better soon.
- I have done juice fasting before and yes you get tired and sick feeling for usually the first three days, the second being the worst. It is your body getting rid of toxins in your body. Just relax, take a realxing walk but otherwise lay around if you can. Drink plenty of water and herbal tea. For next time be sure to watch what you eat prior to a detox... cut out fatty bad foods try to really eat healthy for about 3 days going into a detox and comming out of it. Your body will not know how to react if you deprive yourself of bad foods and then all of a sudden eat them again. Good luck!!!
- Detox is a useless urban myth. It came about when the Edwardians, who decided vegetables were lower class, got so constipated they needed enemas. Unscrupulous entrepreneurs took over, and laugh all the way to the bank as they give out bogus advice and stick tubes up the rear ends of celebrities. Do yourself a favour go back to a balanced diet and take some exercise!
