Mend Your Diet

is it normal to have a lot of gas during a detox diet?

Okay, I'm not usually a gassy person. In fact, I hardly ever pass gas. I have recently gone on a detox diet that consists of some food restrictions and colon detox herbs each day. Since I have started this program, I have had a lot of gas. Not many BMs yet, but A LOT of gas... Is this normal? Is my body starting to clean itself out?? I have been on the diet for four days.

  1. Yes! Fruit and vegetables, which I assume you are eating more of, will make you 'let them go' (as my father used to say) more often due to the chemicals they contain reacting with your insides. It's not really due to your body cleaning itself out. However if you stick with it your body will adapt and it will happen less and less, and you'll feel better for it.
  2. better add some parasite formula to that it will help
  3. Yes that is normal i have cleansed before and i had the same results, your body is ridding itself of toxins.
  4. Hence the detox diet! Your body is changing/clearing itself out. Happy farting!!!!!
  5. Yup...it is normal!!! different people have different way to detoxify themself. some have foul body odor during detoxification, some have bad breath and some got gassy (out from back there or up)... but after all it is healthy and normal...
  6. Yes it's quite normal to have more gas when you start a detox program. You mentioned that you are not hving regular bowel movements, this is not good. When on a detox program you need to have minimum 2 bowel movements per day, if you are not having this many then it might be a good idea for you to get a NATURAL laxative from the health food store to help you along until your body is able to. You must have bowel movements to detoxify. Are you drinking enough water? During a detox you need a to be drinking 1/2 your weight in ounces of water every day. This is very important as the fluids help carry the toxins out of your body.
  7. Yes of course it is! You might be able to cut it down some by drinking a teaspoon of baking soda in a little water or Use a little lecithin!
