Mend Your Diet

weight loss?

Hi, I have a consultation with regards to weight loss and diet. I have been overweight most of my life, but I recently increased my exercise and cut down my intake on food, going cold turkey on sugary snacks. It has been 5 months and I have lost 30lbs. Initially I felt satiated easily, but I noticed that my cravings for carbs/sugary treats are increasing. I didn't indulge though ... is there anyone who goes thru this as well? What are some ways to ease the cravings? Is it better to have a indulgence once in a while to prevent binging? Or is it better to go cold turkey and not have those refined sugars to prevent sugar addiction? Also, my period is always irregular due to my weight, but I've missed my period for 2 months now. Is is something to be concerned about? I understand fast weight loss can lead to hormonal imbalance and thus irregular periods. What are some ways to regulate it again? Thanks, help appreciated! (:

  1. You have to come up with some type of a reward system, this will help keep you motivated. One of the best things to do is make a contingency contract. Stating what you want to do, who will help you do it, and what do you get for doing it. Then also try to find a well balance diet program. My friend did this one diet program where the average weight lose is 7 pounds in 9 days. It might be the thing you are looking for, I know it's well balanced. If you want e-mail me and I can tell you more about either of these.
  2. You dont need to cut on your food intake instead change the food. Like 4 carrots and 10 celery will not result in weight gain because your body spends more energy digesting the food than the energy contained in the food. Eat high fiber foods make your body work for its food. If you feel like eating chocolate make a low fat chocolate cake. There are many recipes that replace all the fat and sugar and bad oils in the food that cut the calories and fat right in half. Im on weight watchers by the way and i can eat many foods that i like so try joining a club. So when you feel like eating sweets try eating a crap load of carrots until you are full then think again if you still want it. Also one last thing is that try this. When you see food that you like for example chocolate. Instead of telling yourself you shouldnt have that yummy sweet food melting in your mouth you should instead associate the food with something less attractive. Like Imagine yourself eating chunky dog poop vividly and i garauntee you will lose your appetite. Cravings can be controlled by disassociation. Like you would never eat off a brand new flyswatter would you. Even if it was bran new and clean you still associate it with dead flies
