Is Diet Pepsi and rum a good alcoholic drink when youre dieting?

I'm not really dieting hard core but avoiding extra calories, carbs, and fats when possible. Is Diet Pepsi and rum a good choice when I want to drink alcohol?

  1. Yes but make sure you are drinking Barcardi Superiuor Rum.
  2. A better choice would be vodka, soda and lime.
  3. the calories you want to save are in alcohol save the calories later
  4. I'm not sure but I can give you what I drink. I get Malibu rum and mix it with Dole fruit juice. It's 100 percent juice. No additives and less sugar. It's so sweet. My favorite is pineapple and mango. Enjoy!!!
  5. eew it will taste gross and then once you get tipsy you'll be like whatever and start drinking regular. Regular coke though is better for mixed drinks. Or try a vodka tonic with diet tonic water. you can't taste it at all in that one. And has fewer calories.
  6. Booze has a pretty high sugar content, but if you drink enough you'll forget or won't care.
  7. I have a weight watchers book and i think the booze with the least calories is a spirit and a diet mixer, not as many points as wine or beer so you would be ok with that. The worst bit is after a dozen you forget and get a kebab on the way home lol
  8. i would say so yes
  9. No! Do not drink when you are dieting. Alcohol puts toxins in your body that slow down your metabolism big time. Smoke Crack instead.
  10. Don't drink while dieting. Even if you drink something lower calorie, most calories are consumed after you're buzzed/drunk and you eat anything in sight.
  11. Yes. I am in the same situation. I try to avoid any beers or mixes that contain extra carbs and sugars. I don't do juices either, because if you drink quite a bit that evening you will be consuming tons of sugars in that too. I am going with diet coke and bacardi limon, or diet coke and captain morgan. Also, to drink less and still have a good time, I am doing "every other" drink as a water or regular diet coke. This spaces it out and you still feel like you are drinking. I also make sure not to snack or go out and eat after that. one trick is- I keep a low fat granola bar in my purse so when I get hungry after going out- that's what I will eat because It's easiest! I know drinking slows metabolism- but the reson I am in cardio class is to look good when I go out, and darn it- we deserve to have a good time as a reward, right? Good luck!
