Mend Your Diet

lose weight?

I'm a 12 year old girl and I'm about 5' 1" and 115 pounds. I'm not muscular, but i'm big boned. My dad has diabetes type 2 so if I don't lose weight I might get it too. I hardly get excercise. I'm not like obssesed with weight loss like some girls in my grade; I just want to lose weight for my health. I don't mind if I do it gradually. I want to lose weight safely. Should I lose weight, and how? Thanks so much!

  2. no your perfect. you don't have to worry about it. your BMI is 21.7 which is perfectly normal.
  3. See site below under EXERCISE. It tells how the key to being thin and avoiding type 2 diabetes is to LOSE fat but also GAIN muscle. It also tells the the key to both the above is to eat foods where the sugar enters your blood slowly instead of quickly. This is why fruit helps you lose weight and cake makes you gain weight. Also see page on advice for teen girls, then see home page.

  5. The way not to do it is starve yourself, to start with. Just exercise and eat right. I did....lost 90 LBS because of it. Starving yourself won't help at all. Drink more water, eat less before bed, and don't eat for stress are the 3 things I follow and i'm going pretty well if i don't say myself. 90 LBS isn't anything like 5-10lbs so take my advice.
