Dangers of liquid diet?

I have a friend that exercises 4 hours a week and drinks nothing but protein shakes, fruit drinks and vegitable drinks. This has to be unhealthy right?

  1. You need plenty of fiber in your diet and without it you can have problems with constipation. Believe it or not it's easier to dehydrate without fiber.
  2. NOTHING IS WRONG WITH IT, HIS/HER BODY MIGHT GET A LITTLE BORED WITH THAT DIET THOUGH.
  3. Fruit drinks have almost as much sugar and fat as soda. Only some apple juice avoids this problem. Protein drink are designed to make money and taste good, not be healthy. Add in salads for every meal and a vitamin pill then your friend may be ok. However I see a good possibility that the diet will come up deficient in something, and your friend will eventually gain a serious health problem in the long term. It would be better if he/she ate a normal meal every day.
