  1. maybe all the weight you have is muscle because from what i can tell, you would usually lose weight if you do all that
  2. It sounds like you might need to modify your diet to help. One suggestion would be to eat 5 or 6 small meals a day to increase your metabolism. Another suggestion would be to switch to a south beach or atkins style diet. You also might want to reduce the amount of liquids that you are taking in as the weight that you might be carrying could be water weight. Hope this helps.
  3. How much weight do you wish to lose? You are certainly doing the enough exercise. Running is one of the most vigorous exercises out there. It is an extremely efficient way to burn calories and drop pounds. To lose a pound, you have to burn, through exercise or life functions, about 3,500 calories. So exercise is really good, but you will need to combine it with a healthy diet. A common eating mistake is that sometimes you can over compenstate for the calories burned by exercise with extra calories from more food and beverages. Some people actually find they gain weight despite their regular exercise routine. One way to prevent "stealth calorie" consumption is to write everything down you are eating in a journal for a few weeks. Seeing a record of your food intake will help see if/and where you are going wrong. 16 months ago I decided to change my lifestyle. I set upon eating a sensible healthy diet and embarked on regular exercise. I managed to lose 48lbs in just over 6 months. I kept all junk foods, ready made processed meals, alcohol and takeaway meals to an absolute minimum. These are high in refined sugar and full of saturated fat. Junk food is just what it say's. JUNK. With one added ingredient. FAT. I included more wholefoods in my diet. Such as brown bread, brown rice, brown pasta, beans & pulses. These are high in fibre and will keep you feeling fuller for longer. Unfortunately, there is no magic formula when it comes to losing weight. But by eating sensibly and exercising regularly. The results are amazing. So don't give up and be patient. A sensible weight loss of 1lbs/2lbs a week is more likely to be sustained in the long term. Good Luck.
  4. Something to be careful of... one calorie is not like any other calorie. The types of foods we eat are extremely important, not just the quantity of calories. Also, how we eat them. So if you're sure you should be losing weight, based on your calorie intake vs your calorie expenditure, then look at the foods you're eating. And just because you eat a weight watcher meal doesn't unfortunately mean it's a good meal! The most damaging calories for a diet come from high-glycemic carbohydrates - the type found in all baked goods, anything made from flour, and any foods with added sweeteners (check the weight watcher's ingredients list, and I'll bet you'll find plenty of sweeteners - that's how they make it taste good!). You'd be much better off eating meals of whole foods rather than processed foods like a weight watcher's meal. Stick predominantly with raw fruits (but no watermelon - this is the only high-glycemic fruit), raw vegetables, raw nuts and raw seeds. Include foods like raw lettuce, carrots, cabbage, celery, broccoli, and grapefruit in each meal. You couldn't possibly eat enough of these to not lose weight, given your exercise levels. And watch out for dressings and sauces - they often will turn a healthy meal into an unhealthy high-glycemic meal, due to added sweeteners. You must learn to read ingredients, and stop using anything with any sweeteners as the first few ingredients. Also, don't eat any food later than 2 hours before bedtime. Your biggest meals should be early in the day - supper should be your lightest meal of the day, breakfast should be hearty. And don't skip meals - you won't keep your metabolism going strong, even with exercise, unless you're eating frequently throughout the day and keeping your calorie count near a level that will support most of your caloric needs. Finally, we ALL need to be supplementing, especially those trying to lose weight, because even the healthiest diet is deficient in vital nutrients today - that's simply a result of our farming methods. Your supplements should include a natural multivitamin/mineral product, a phytosterol product so you know your endocrine system gets what it needs (hormones play a HUGE role in weight management), and a glyconutrient supplement. Hope this helps!
