lose weight?
Ok so I am 13 years old, 5'3" and I weigh about 170 pounds. I live with my grandparents and my grandpa is constantly telling me I am obese and i get really depressed because I dont know where i am gaining the weight because all I eat is lunch in the afternoon,at about 11:00 from school cuz thats what time they serve, and they generally have healthy food. I usually chose a chicken sandwich with wheat bun and about 6 ounces of chocolate milk with an apple or orange. for dinner my grandma cooks pretty healthy food and i dont ever eat seconds. I know i am a little over weight and i know i need to lose it. Where am i gaining it and how do I lose the weight on my inner thighs(where my legs touch at the top)? And I rarely eat snacks so it cant come from that. i eat snacks about once a month. can someone please help me? I was wondering if it had anything to do with not sweating even in the hottest weather. My friends in gym class are always sweatin in class but i dont!LOOK DOWN AT DETAILS! even when we run the mile i dont even have one drop! Not even damp! Could this be related to my weight? ♥ Please help♥ ♥Thanks♥

- Not sweating is not a good sign...could be a hormone issue, could be a thyroid issue. See a doctor if you can and get it checked out.
- i think you just have a really slow metabolism. and yea, not sweating can become a problem. you should probably try to jus workout until you break a sweat. wear layers and layers of clothes. go jogging or do situps. for your thighs, squats and running is best. but you can't only run. running jus takes away that fatty stuff in your legs if you wanna keep it off you'll hafta do leg workouts like leg press and stuff. if you can't afford to go to a gym then squats are essential. you should tell your grandpa to suck a fatty cuz even tho he's family he has no rite to tell you if your "obese" or not. you should go to sparkpeople.com. their a really good program online. its free and it helps a lot.
- Well it sounds like you eat pretty healthy so the problem may be that you have a tyroid or metabolism problem witch makes you gain weight, so you should see the doctor so that he can give you medicine to fix it. The only other thing that you could do is exercise. that should make you lose weight and it is good for your health. Oh yeah one more thing I don't know if you drink pop or not but if you do pop can really make you fat so try substituting pop for water, also another thing that people are commonaly conffused by is that they think that fruit juice drinks are good for them but they are normally loaded with sugar which turns to fat. so drink lots of water. Good luck and remember you are beautiful just how you are
- I agree with graelwyn...it's not that you're eating too much, maybe you're eating too little and your metabolism has slowed down...try eating 6 small meals daily instead of just 2 regular meals. Breakfast is super-important to jumpstart your metabolism for the day.
- i had the same problem when i was your age,i'm pretty sure it just babyphat cuz you're still developping. but just drink plenty of water at least 8 glasses a day,and walk anywhere everychance you get, cut down on chocolate and sweets. but you will be fine it will all dissapear when you least expect it. my little sister also went through the same thing but suddenly she started looking slim and slender and she got pretty tall too,so that was just the babyphat.
- You may want to sit down with your grandfather and let him know that you don't appreciate being called obese and ask him to refrain from making comments like that. Maybe have another person with you if you don't feel comfortable saying this to him. It sounds like your portion control is fine... I would start eating a healthy breakfast, it can boost your metabolism for the rest of the day and give you more energy. (Sounds weird to eat more to lose more weight, but it works... breakfast is the most important meal of the day). As for the sweat thing, you may want to consult a doctor... maybe something is up with your sweat glands. Let your doc know everything that is troubling you, including the depression caused by your grandpa and your doc will probably have the best solutions.
- I agree with the other posters who say to see a doctor. Don't let people get to you - there could be an underlying problem that is leading to your weight gain. As long as you are eating healthily and trying to stay active, you are doing all you can do. Not sweatting does sound like a problem though, it could make you ill if you end up overheating, surely? See a doctor, and hopefully they'll be able to identify any underlying causes, then after that, if you want to, you can look at losing weight. Good luck!
